Part-time Recruiter (1 position) (NTU Current student or Former student)

JOB PURPOSE:
Recruit new students for curriculum in accordance with the mission, goals, and policies of Navajo Technical University.
Assist in providing advice, guidance and assistance relating to the application and documentation for the admissions process.
This position description indicates in general the nature and levels of work, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities:
Coordinate with Recruitment office in providing packets and information pertaining to the college courses and student recruitment.
Coordinates with Marketing Department to develop programs and marketing material for the recruitment of students.
Conducts radio and TV announcements to promote NTU.
Becomes an advocate of NTU, engaging in dialogues and answering questions.
Visits chapter houses, tribal fairs, flea markets, and other gatherings to make presentations to groups and speak to individuals about all NTU program offered.
Assists students in the completion of Admission applications; coordinates applications for financial assistance.
Assists with campus tours for prospective students and parents during the summer.
Distributes resources and marketing materials for student recruitment.
Prepares reports to Campus Recruiter and Director of Enrollment on summer recruitment scheduled and results.
Serves as an operational resource to other staff, faculty, and/or students.
Ensures strict confidentiality of financial records.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Current student or recent graduate.
No experience necessary in recruitment Must be willing to assist with market and public relations.
Bi-lingual English/Navajo Valid state driver's license Must be able to pass background check, with NO prior convictions of any felonies.
The Navajo Nation Preference in Employment Act applies to all hiring, promotions or transfers of individuals into this position.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of student recruitment practices.
Knowledge of admission policies, procedures, and documents.
Knowledge of all NTU programs and opportunities Presentation skills.
Database management skills.
Skill in operating business computers, phone systems, and office machines, including in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access, and presentation software (such as PowerPoint).
Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
Ability to create written materials.
Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in verbal or written formats.
Ability to communicate effectively in the Navajo and English language.
Ability to work as a team member in a structured working environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit for prolonged periods, walk and stand.
Use of hands for dexterity of motions, repetitive movement of both hands.
Have normal auditory, visual acuity, and verbal communications skills.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is generally performed in office and interior settings with normal noise levels.
Travel is required.
Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common.
Evening and/or weekend work may be required.
Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
